you cant get an appointment when you need one ,most of the doctors are nice and very helpful ,but you cant get to see one when you need one, you have to phone up at 8 o clock to try and get an appointment,needless to say everybodys on the phone at the same time,so all you usually get is a very large phone bill and no appointment ,im glad they give you a number on the phone ,i was number 8 at 8-20 when i phoned up at least your not just hanging on the phone hoping that the phones working and its just not repeating some one will be with you soon,after youve been on the phone for 20 mins,i eventually got through after 40 mins,the other 20 mins the phone would not take my call at 8 ocock ,so i just kept ringing and ringing,when i got through and waited i was glad to know i was number 8 ,untill after twenty mins i was told that i could have an appointment in two weeks time, the nurses are great and you can always see them ,but trying to get a satisfactory appointment to see a doctor ,not any special doctor ,just any doctor which is not what you want but just glad of anything is impossible , i see the practice is taking on new patients ,is that a good idea when the patients that are already here cant be seen by a doctor, i hope this helps and is constructive criticism ,im 66 and i dont know who to turn to when im ill and cant get an apointment,i dont want to be a nuicence and call a doctor out or block up A and E , I dont want to say its an emergency apointment when im ill and dont know if its an emergency or not, im just very depressed and cant work out what i should do, The doctor is someone whos time is precious and i only go when i really need to go , im very proud of our n h s and know they do a fantastic job,and the doctors have alot to put up with, when they finally get to see us ,but you cant get an appointment ,i can put up with any thing else that is wrong with the practice except trying to get an appointment ,this is just a patient whos upset with the appointment procedure , ive been with this practice for years and it was always ok but the apointment system is at the worst its ever been , im sorry to moan but you need to have feedback and this is my story .

A great practice ruined by certain members of the reception team who were rude and cold and seemed uncaring. As a mental health patient this could easy dissuade not to seek treatment. Also I understand doctors are overstretched and overworked in this modern age but 2 weeks wait for an appointment ? Is this normal now ? It's horrendous. I would like to make special mention of a LOCUM doctor Dr. Coaluca who's been amazing for me genuinely caring and always checking on me truely an awesome guy. He's the reason I will continue to attend here.

I asked for a telephone appointment on Monday and the earliest I could be fitted in was Thursday. Although a little disappointing, this was ok for me, as it was not an emergency. On Thursday, as expected, the call from the doctor came in the morning, which was great. I explained what the matter was. Dr Seaton listened, ask questions, understood my situation and was able to advise me and answer my queries. I was very happy with the service I received.

I have recently joined "Vision on line" - Pretty straight forward to set up once I received my login details. Great to use, book appointments and prescriptions when it suits me. No more ringing at 8am to try an get an appointment with the Dr - brilliant. It should take the pressure off the admin staff, less phone calls.

I have asked in the last few weeks for a telephone call from the doctor's surgery and have always had a call back within a couple of hours. Dr Aye, Whittaker and Colaluca are all very helpful, straightforward, and happy to answer questions. I do not know the other doctors, so cannot comment. As a female patient, I have found Dr Colaluca (male) approachable, and able to put me at my ease, which is good. I love and appreciate the fact that the surgery opens on Wednesdays at 7.30 am, which means I can get in before I need to leave for work. And the later evening appointments are also a great help for people who work.
